The Story Behind the Artwork

Top of the Wave was born from a deep connection to the sea and sailing.

Coming from the world of competitive sailing, Roland Delsemme grew up surrounded by the movements of the wind, the tension of the sails and the constantly changing balance of a boat at sea.

With this creation, he seeks not to reproduce a sailboat, but to give form to an invisible force: the wind.

The slender silhouette evokes a sail stretching towards the sky, while its fluid curves suggest the energy of movement.The sculpture becomes an expression of freedom, where strength and delicacy meet.

Forged Carbon Fibre

Originally developed for high-performance applications, forged carbon fibre holds a central place in Roland Delsemme's artistic practice.

Its irregular structure reveals a unique texture, capturing and reflecting light in unexpected ways.
